Here’s something I was so excited for: my new Bipolar Bears Hat from @mentalhealthleague. They have several different designs (“Anxietees” are manatees, y’all!) with several goals in mind. First, to decrease the stigma of mental illness through conversation, in the same way my semicolon tattoo has acted as a door for me to talk to curious people about mental illness. The hats also serve as a reminder to the wearer (and others!) that battling mental illness is a fight that is on every day, and those who fight it are warriors who cannot afford to take days off. Lastly, 20% of the proceeds from these things go towards getting people the help they need to keep fighting. Also, this is a fantastic hat and I am gonna wear it all the time!
